Brazilian Influencers Die After Refusing Life Jackets

In a heart-wrenching accident at Brazil’s infamous “Devil’s Throat,” influencers Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim, 37, and Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria, 27, lost their lives after declining life jackets on a speedboat party.

The incident occurred on September 29 but was recently reported by local authorities. Five others onboard were rescued, but the two women, reportedly taking selfies, had refused life jackets to avoid tan lines in their photos.

City police chief Marcos Alexandre Alfino shared that Amorim, a mother to a 17-year-old, posted from the vessel despite reportedly not knowing how to swim. The tragic accident unfolded when a wave capsized the smaller boat transporting guests back to shore, sending all seven passengers into the turbulent waters.
